Gurkhas live in diverse geographical regions in Nepal and this is reflected on foods we serve at the restaurant. The use of fresh herbs and spices, many of which are unique to Nepalese cooking, are prepared in the "khal" (stone mortar), rather than powders used in other Asian cuisines.

This was our first visit to a Gurkha Restaurant and we were not quite sure what to expect. We were not expecting the taste explosion that we got starting with the poppadoms with dipping sauces to the tiger prawns, the lamb that just melted in your mouth and the exquisite ice cream at the end. I am already planning my next meal with a friend of mine as it was just wonderful.

The staff were pleasant and courteous and they did not hover over you waiting for you to finish as in some restaurants. Price was reasonable. I wish this Restaurant well for the future. Long may this place be in Abergavenny.

This restaurant has only just opened. We visited on a Tuesday night with 2 other couples. The food was amazing, and unlike a lot of Indian restaurants did not arrive swimming in oil.

The staff, especially the manager was excellent, some of the staff may have been a little inexperienced, but were extremely attentive. The menu was varied, and made choosing a little bit of a chore.

I live in the town, and will definitely be going back !!

Best Indian resturant in Abergavenny Sarah H

We were the second group to arrive on this Monday evening and service was comfortable and attentive. We ordered our usual selection of three vegetable curries (Saag Pannier, Alo Gobi, Dahl) and a pile of naan breads. These arrived quickly and hot. Great taste and without the lake of fat that often accompanies these dishes.

For a quiet Monday night in Abergavenny the place was packed by the time we left. All other guests looke to be having a good time and the food looked just as good as ours. Good news had obviously got around and they deserve it.
